About Comforting Hope
Dr. Jamie Gavin is the President of Comforting Hope, a 509(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation established to help people reach their true potential though emotional healing within a Christian atmosphere.
Dr. Gavin also provides Christian counseling through a private for-profit corporation, Environmentalists Incorporated. Here is a disclosure statement regarding Dr. Gavin's practice and his professional resume.
Wonderful counseling (Isaiah 9:6) services legitimately fund this ministry. Emotional disorders come from trying to ignore the pains we feel. Such avoidance serves to physically, mentally and spiritually multiply painful disabilities and impair our judgment. All such avoidance ceases by looking to Christ crucified, where love surpasses and comforts the pain. The daily or continual presence of Christ is not generally practiced or understood. Church members (including the pastor) need to identify their emotional distresses; like general symptoms of difficulty focusing or sleeping, forgetfulness, eating too much or too little, anxiety/worry or depression. The difficulties that precede these symptoms can range from interpersonal conflicts to loss to "I don't know why." Providing services to those who have such symptoms help fund this ministry.
